Frequently Asked Questions:
Why only one product?
We're starting with the most popular design.  However, do look for different sizes and other designs in the future.

Why is it called "Lux-Delux"?
The subtle and beautiful interaction of light with the translucent porcelain and its glaze is part of what sets Lux-Delux Design's porcelain apart from most ceramics.  Lux is the standard unit measurement of illumination (light), and so Lux-Delux is Deluxe Light.  It also sounds good.

Can I get a quantity discount by combining the number of cups with and without saucers that I order?
Yes.  Write a note in the "Notes:" during checkout and your charge will be adjusted, or email with what you want and you will recieve a special link to order exactly what you want.
How well does it work for espresso drinks?
Just fine.  It might take a little getting used to, but as you can see in this video, it doesn't present any problems.  Keep in mind, it is on the large side (12 oz.) for espresso drinks.  We will have an 8 oz. size in 2008.
Will it match my other china and porcelain?
It should go well with other high quality whiteware.  An example picture is coming soon.
When in the dishwasher, does water pool inside the footring?
No.  The footring isn't very deep and the bottom isn't horizontal when upside down, so the tilt helps it drain.
Is there a difficult-to-clean recess inside where the handle meets the body?
No.  There is a small recess, but it doesn't collect water in the dishwasher and it isn't deep enough to cause any difficulty when cleaning with a sponge or whatnot.
Where were they made?
The factory is in China, where porcelain was invented.
Made in China?  Do you really know that there isn't lead in the glaze?
They couldn't have used lead even if they wanted to.  This type of porcelain is heated to over 2400°F (1300°C) in a reducing (oxygen-starved) atmosphere.  Lead boils away under such conditions.
Will they scratch my table?
No.  The foot ring of each cup and each saucer are inspected and sanded so that they are very smooth.  They will not scratch even soft surfaces.
